More US cablecos touch SES for 4K distribution
Six more US wire operators have joined the Ultra HD trial program from satellite organization SES, although some of the first cable providers to participate are nearing the historic unveiling of consumer Ultra HD plans in the united states.
Over 15 wire operators and multichannel training video programming vendors (MVPDs), with a combined audience of over several million subscribers, are testing 4K content delivery across SES’s fully-managed, pre-packaged Ultra HD system. The platform supplies the major Ultra HD coding line-up, with satellite tv distribution services and reception items alongside one another.
“Our SES Ultra HD solution is on course to permit live and linear Ultra HD delivery to homes in half enough time it took HD to reach the same television set milestone over the US,” noted Steve Corda, vice president of business development in THE UNITED STATES for SES.
“Wire operators have been extremely impressed with how easy it is to implement our pre-packaged Ultra HD solution across their networks. By leveraging the consistency and scalability of dish, SES has greatly accelerated the delivery of Ultra HD to homes throughout THE UNITED STATES. A number of the first wire operators to become listed on our Ultra HD studies early this past year are actually on the verge of starting the very first consumer Ultra HD deals in america.”
Added Jeff Hendrickson, video headend technician, KPU Telecommunications:
“KPU Tv set has initiated its first Ultra HD trials with SES, firmly committed to being the first ever to provide best 4K Ultra HD services to our customers throughout Ketchikan, Alaska. Sales of 4K Ultra HD TVs have increased across the community dramatically, therefore have customer requests for great Ultra HD content.”
